When does height stop for girls?

The age 11 or 12, is when females experience the fastest growth spurt. It is common for women to gain 7 cm (2.75 in) more height after menstruation. Females also gain weight during puberty. Females usually reach adult height between the ages of 14 and 15. This can change, however. The following factors can also have an effect on height: Nutrition: Children who are malnourished often grow smaller and less healthy than they would have expected in childhood. However, with proper thyroid, or growthhormone can cause slower growth and shorter adult height. Medications Some medicines can slow down growth. This could be illustrated by long-term corticosteroids use. However, some conditions that are treated with corticosteroids, such as cystic Fibrosis or kidney disease and celiac Disease may lead to a lower adult height than anticipated. Adults who have been diagnosed with cancer might also be shorter than their children. Genetic conditions: Children with Marfan Syndrome are taller.  Detail at
